Stop! Think...Connect

Making cybersecurity learning for colleagues more than an annual event/refresher is key to protecting and future-proofing your business.

If you think about radar system road signs, many drivers reduce their speed when they are faced with a flashing warning sign telling them how fast they are traveling. The same cannot be said when they are faced with a static, traditional sign.

This is why real-time cyber alerts, training, and education are vital for two reasons:

1. It will tell someone that what they are about to click on, or share, is high-risk. This is a far better way to improve behaviour, rather than a snapshot event once a year.

For example, businesses do not wait for the publication of a static annual profit and loss account as the key indicator of their financial health. Other interventions, such as financial cashflow forecasts, real-time debtors/creditors, and monthly accounts are just some of the helpful predictors and alerts of financial performance.

2. The pace at which emerging threats have evolved over the past 12 months, for example, is also another reason why a once-a-year static training/learning approach is not the best solution to change behaviours. The use of AI in cyberattacks, by threat actors has become more common month by month.
